Led by qualified ECE teachers with backgrounds in arts, Whimsy Atelier focuses on creativity, confidence, natural skill-building, and process over perfection. Our Atelier invites young artists to explore materials, textures, colour, and narrative through hands-on making. Children experiment with drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, and mark-making as they build confidence in creative expression. Class times: After School: A relaxed, small-group creative session designed to ease children into art after the school day. Arrival window: 3:30pm - 4:00pm Session length: Up to 90 minutes (most children stay around 60 minutes) Days: Tuesdays or Thursdays Children arrive, settle in, and are guided through a creative process at their own pace. This session is perfect for unwinding, building confidence, and exploring ideas in a calm studio environment. Morning Atelier: A longer, immersive studio experience for children who enjoy spending extended time developing ideas and artwork in depth. Time: 10:00am - 11:30am Session length: 90 minutes Days: Tuesdays or Thursdays This session allows for deeper exploration, more complex projects, and a slower creative rhythm. Children are supported to plan, experiment, and refine their work over time. We are intentionally keeping these classes small, maximum 8 children per class. Program Theme: Ma Petite Planète 🌍✨ This term, children are invited on a creative journey through space, designing and building a planet that is uniquely their own. Inspired by The Little Prince, where characters live on a planet shaped by who they are, our young artists will explore identity, imagination, and self-expression. Through a mix of guided and open-ended activities, children will create their own “little planet” that reflects what matters to them. We will begin by exploring self-portraits, helping children think about who they are and how they see themselves. From there, we will experiment with abstract painting, colour, and texture to bring their planet to life. As the term unfolds, children will decide what belongs on their world, whether that is creatures, landscapes, stories, or symbols that feel meaningful to them. This theme encourages creativity, confidence, and storytelling, while giving each child the freedom to lead their own artistic journey.
