FAQ

1. How do I book a class or party?
Bookings are confirmed once full payment is received. This secures your child’s place for the term or event.

2. What happens if I need to cancel?
We’re unable to offer refunds for cancellations or missed classes once the term begins. If we ever need to cancel a class or party (e.g., illness or low enrolment), you can choose a refund or a credit for a future booking.

3. My child is sick—what should I do?
Please keep your child home if they’re unwell. This helps keep our studio safe and healthy for everyone. Refunds or make-up sessions aren’t available for illness, but we appreciate your care for the community.

4. Do you accommodate allergies or medical needs?
Absolutely. Let us know about any allergies, conditions, or special needs at enrolment so we can support your child safely.

5. Are vaccinations required?
Vaccinations aren’t mandatory, but we do ask for your child’s vaccination status when you enrol so we can follow public health guidelines if needed.

6. Can I stay with my child during class or parties?
Parents are welcome to settle younger children at the start, but we encourage kids to explore and create independently once they’re comfortable.

7. Will my child’s artwork always come home?
Not always right away! Some artworks may stay at the studio briefly for exhibitions or documentation. All pieces are returned safely after display.

8. How do you use photos or videos of the children?
We only use photos or videos with your consent. Identifiable images are never shared without written permission. Unidentifiable images (like hands or backs of heads, blurred faces) may be used for marketing or newsletters.

9. Do you ever leave the studio for activities?
Sometimes! We may offer small excursions linked to the children’s creative inquiry. We’ll always get your written consent and provide full details. Participation is optional.

10. What is included in a Learning Report?
Learning Reports (available in select packages) include thoughtful reflections on your child’s creativity and progress, plus photos or short videos. They’re written by our teaching team, and never AI-generated.

11. What if a class falls on a public holiday?
We don’t run classes on public holidays. Returning families re-enrolling for the next term will receive a discount for missed sessions.

12. How do you keep personal information safe?
We store all data securely, use it only for enrollment and communication, and never sell it. You can request access to, or correction of, your information anytime.

13. What kind of behaviour is expected in the studio?
We create a positive, respectful space. Children are expected to follow teacher instructions, treat others kindly, and use tools safely. Persistent disruptive behaviour will be discussed with families.

14. Are holiday programs different from term classes?
Yes, holiday programs are booked and paid for separately. They’re one-off sessions with the same policies for cancellations, illness, and refunds as term bookings.

15. What makes Whimsy & Co. different?
We focus on the creative journey not just the final product. Children experiment, problem-solve, and develop confidence through guided inquiry and playful exploration.
